This degree is a one-year MSc course (when taken as a full-time student) or a two-year MSc course (when taken part-time).
You will learn fundamental sciences underlying microsystems and nanotechnology, including microelectronics, nanophotonics and microelectromechanical systems.
You will be trained to use a wide range of microfabrication tools (e.g. laser micro-lithography) in a microfabrication cleanroom facility, and will carry out a full-cycle microsystem design, fabrication and characterisation project – preparing yourself for an exciting, applied engineering career.
A selection of modules are offered from the following list:
● Design and Characterisation Lab
● Microfabrication Lab
● Semiconductor Microdevices
● Nanophotonics
● Microelectromechanical Systems (MEMS)
● Microsystems Project
For full details, please see the Microsystems and Nanoengineering course pages.
